Over Easy

We did it! We finally had a day off together! Sunshine got the kids off to school, then excitedly went upstairs to harass Firefly into waking up because it was tome for a BREAKFAST DATE! Once he happily stirred we skimmed google maps to see what was in the Queen Creek area that we hadn't tried. After reading lots of reviews and menus we settled on Over Easy.

Over Easy is a small Arizona chain (with apparently a single other location in Oregon.) The size of the restaurant is not impressive, but the simple decorations resembled a 50s diner of the future. Everything is bright, clean, shiny and white with bright yellow undertones. The atmosphere is pleasant, even though all of the seating is pretty close to other patrons. We decided to sit at the bar rather than wait 20 minutes for a table.
Even though we were right next to other customers it felt private- but to be fair we are typically in our own little world wherever we go.

Firefly's love of rice won out and he chose the Loko Moko:
OE-styled Hawaiian classic: a sunny side up egg, 6oz ground beef patty, crispy onions, mushroom gravy, and sticky rice
Firefly says:
Layers of Flavors!!! So many layers and delicious flavors that explode on every bite. That's what I would say this meal does to me. All the textures complemented each other so well. The rice and the ground beef were soft and the gravy was so decadent. The crispy onions made for a nice treat on top but the thing that really set it off was the yoke from the egg that oozed over the whole dish. I ordered a side of their masterpiece hollandaise and added that to the artwork on my plate. I didn't wanna miss out on their potatoes so I also ordered a side of potatoes Obrien. Chefs kisses! Glaric and onion framework and the perfect krisp! Topped it all off with a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice! Such a beautiful meal to enjoy. Definitely going back for more of their many delicious options and well of more Loko Moko.

Sunshine has a passion for hollandaise sauce and spinach, so she went with the Eggs Benedict Florentine with hash browns:
Sautéed spinach, mushrooms, tomato, hollandaise sauce, toasted english muffin, and choice of potato
An extra side in the menu was the Quinoa Crunch. When we asked what it was the waitress/bartender didn't exactly know how to describe it, so for only $4.00 I decided I'd just dive in!

Sunshine says:
Over easy might have the best hollandaise sauce that I've had in a very long time. it was super-rich, not too runny and not lemonade like some of the other places we've been. I love lemon but sometimes things it out and just makes it overwhelming.
That wasn't the case here. We ordered extra hollandaise sauce, which the lovely bar tender offered us because we were enjoying it so much and put it over our potatoes! bBy the way, they also ask you how crispy you would like your potatoes, which is an awesome bonus.

Like I said, we sat at the bar. But our service was still out standing. She even offered everyone that was about to leave drinks to go like coffee or my case Iced tea. We definitely couldn't finish our food, but we took it home and left super full and satisfied.

We will definitely be coming back because there were several things on the menu we had to choose between and it was just super hard to decide!
